Española del Zinc redujo un 24% sus pérdidas brutas hasta marzo, con 1,9 millones
Española del Zinc registró pérdidas brutas de 1,9 millones de euros en el primer trimestre del año, frente a 2,5 millones del mismo periodo del ejercicio anterior, según datos de la compañía remitidos a la Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV). Las ventas alcanzaron los 134 millones de euros, 3,07 millones menos que hace un año, hecho que se justifica, en parte, porque la fábrica de Cartagena cesó su actividad en julio 2008, por lo que no hubo producción en la primera mitad de 2009. Tampoco hubo producción de ácido sulfúrico, frente a las 3,8 millones de toneladas de hace un año, y, en consecuencia, no hubo ventas de zinc metal en este periodo. Asimismo, subrayó que la falta de producción y de ventas son debidas a la paralización de las actividades en las obsoletas instalaciones industriales de Torreciega, para proceder a su demolición y descontaminación y cumplir las condiciones de venta de los terrenos Quorum Capital Investment por 142 millones de euros
